Riza is a full-stack habit tracking web application designed to help users build consistency through daily habit tracking, progress visualization, and secure cloud-based data storage. The app allows users to create and manage habits, track completion history, view streaks and statistics, and access their data from multiple devices.
Riza is a modern full-stack habit-tracking web application built with Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and vanilla JavaScript. It allows users to track their daily habits, visualize their progress over time, and build greater consistency, all with secure, cloud-based data storage.
Core Functionality
The core functionality includes secure user authentication with JWT-based registration and login, along with full habit management features that let users create, edit, and delete habits with custom icons. The app also offers progress tracking through visual charts that display daily, weekly, and monthly completion rates, as well as a streak system that highlights current and longest streaks with dynamic flame animations. Users can view their habit history through an activity calendar, stay encouraged with daily motivational quotes, and explore a statistics dashboard featuring success rates and best-performing days. In addition, the app includes a user profile section for managing account details, uploading profile pictures, and changing passwords, while cloud sync through MongoDB Atlas ensures that all data is stored securely and can be accessed from any device.
Technical Features
Technical features include a full-stack architecture built around a RESTful API with an Express.js backend and MongoDB database, providing a solid and scalable foundation for the application. Security is handled through JWT-based authentication with bcrypt password hashing, while multi-user support ensures that each user’s data remains fully isolated. The app is fully responsive and optimized for mobile, tablet, laptop, and large desktop screens, and it features a modern, green-themed interface with smooth animations for a polished user experience. Real-time updates allow changes to appear immediately across all pages, and accessibility is supported through ARIA labels and keyboard navigation. In addition, MongoDB Atlas powers the cloud database, offering reliable and scalable data storage.
Through this project, I improved my understanding of full-stack development, REST API design, user authentication, MongoDB data modeling, password hashing, and frontend-backend communication. I also practiced building a structured application with multiple pages, reusable frontend logic, protected user data, and responsive UI behavior.
